World-Leading Technology Set To Slash Shopping Cart Abandonment
Temando Launches its Magento Extension in UK
With two thirds of online shopping carts abandoned before purchases have been completed, mainly due to unexpected costs like shipping and lack of delivery options2, eCommerce retailers are set to reap the benefits of a ground-breaking, fully-integrated shipping software solution just launched in the UK.
Award winning shipping platform, Temando, is now available in the UK as a market-leading extension to global eCommerce shopping cart, Magento, allowing retailers to improve the customer experience, streamline the fulfilment process across multiple outlets, manage billing and save on shipping costs.
The system allows retailers to accurately display dynamic delivery options from multiple carriers to customers based on their location.
This enables eCommerce businesses to set and control promotions, determine the cheapest and fastest delivery routes to meet customer expectations, all while taking advantage of Temando’s best-in-class out-of-the-box courier rates with no account needed to start shipping. Customers with existing accounts with couriers can easily load their rates to better manage them all in a single system.
Delivery options include economy, express, parcel lockers and ‘collect from store’, with rapid three-hour delivery to be available later this year for the first time in the UK.
Co-founder and CEO of Temando, Carl Hartmann, said the advanced delivery management system could save UK retailers millions of pounds with shopping cart abandonment conservatively estimated to be costing at least GBP 1 billion a year in lost sales3.
“A lack of existing solutions to solve this issue easily means we expect a strong uptake from Magento users, big and small, looking to capitalise on our exciting technology to revolutionise their shipping systems, improve their customer service and save money,” Mr Hartmann said.
“We are fulfilling a vital gap in the market with a complete turn-key solution for retailers which will simplify and automate their processes, integrate with their existing IT systems, track deliveries online and improve their bottom lines,” he said.
Magento, owned by eBay, has deployed more than 150,000 eCommerce websites and leads the global market with 26 per cent share. In Australia, where Temando first launched in 2009, Magento now accounts for 42 per cent of online retail websites.
Temando currently services more than 40,000 clients including big brands like Nike, Toys ‘R’ Us and Aldi, processing one booking every second. It will officially launch its Magento Extension at Magento Live UK, 22 October 2013.
