ByBox Awarded British Safety Council Accolade

The British Safety Council has awarded UK smart logistics business ByBox a ‘Merit’ award in the International Safety Awards 2014. In its 56th year, this award is the last word in health and safety in the work place, highlighting ByBox’s ongoing commitment to staff welfare.

ByBox achieved an impressive 57 out of 60, placing it in elite company with only 331 other organisations in the country that succeeded in achieving ‘Merit’ status. This is the fourth time that ByBox has been awarded a ‘Merit’ by the British Safety Council, showing an improvement of three points from last year. This trend has continued over the four years ByBox has entered with results consistently increasing, reflecting a constant improvement in providing a safe and healthy environment for workers.

The award recognises an extensive array of initiatives ByBox has put in place over the last 12 months, such as the instigation of site safety tours, a partnership with well-being service Healthy Performance Ltd to encourage healthy living and employment of external site safety auditors.

Roger Ward, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager, ByBox, said:

“This success is down to the effort the company has put into ensuring it meets the highest health, safety and welfare standards. We are always working with staff to give them the necessary support needed to lead a healthy lifestyle. We have risen up the International Safety Awards’ ranks thanks to the continued support  and hard work from colleagues and business partners alike. A healthy and safe place to work is at the heart of running a successful business and by continuing to improve our working environment we’re looking to beat our score next year and get full marks.”

Stuart Miller, CEO and Co-founder, ByBox, said:

“The employees of ByBox are the most important part of this business and so it is our duty to provide a safe and inspiring place to work. The job Roger and the team have done to create this has been brilliant and I can’t wait to get my hands on the BSC’s ‘Distinction’ award next year!”
