Rhenus UK’s Michael Gregory Retires
Rhenus UK’s group development director, Michael Gregory will retire on 19 December after 40 years of service. Gregory will be continuing to act as an export specialist consultant to Rhenus UK in 2015 on a part time basis which will ensure the smooth transition of his departure.
After starting his career in logistics, Gregory spent two years as a freight forwarder before moving to Hauser Logistics in 1974 where he developed his knowledge of import and export in freight. During this time, Hauser became part of Interspe Hamann Group (IHG) before being bought out by the Rhenus Group in 2006.
Gregory said: “I’ve spent almost the entirety of my career at Rhenus, so retiring will be difficult. However, taking up the position of export consultant for the next year allows me to pave the way for fresh talent, as part of Rhenus’ ongoing expansion and investment in people. I’m proud to have worked with a friendly, committed and long-serving team and can see that 2015 will be another successful year for Rhenus UK.”
David Williams, managing director at Rhenus, said: “Although Michael will be acting as a consultant for Rhenus UK over the next year, he will be greatly missed. To remain with the Rhenus team for such a large proportion of his career shows dedication to both Rhenus and the wider logistics industry. We will be recruiting for a new position with the candidat-e benefiting from Michael’s focused mentoring on export regulations.”
