Halo Food Awards Three Year Transport Contract To Wincanton
Wincanton, a UK leading provider of innovative supply chain solutions, has been awarded a three year contract to provide transport services to Halo Foods.
Halo Foods, owned by Finnish based food group Raisio, was formed more than 25 years ago and is a major producer of healthier bars & snacks, with brands such as Harvest Cheweee, The Dormen Food Company and the iconic Honey Monster Sugar Puffs.
The new contract sees Wincanton take responsibility for providing national transport services to all three of Halo’s operational manufacturing sites, distributing around 1,700 pallets a week to retailers and wholesalers around the country.
Richard Pimbley, Halo’s Head of Logistics said the company had taken the decision to invite Wincanton to tender based on its reputation for service, operational excellence and innovation in its supply chains.
“In an ever more competitive market, we were looking for a logistics provider who could offer, above all, excellent service but underpinned by a spirit of partnership. Whilst talking with the team at Wincanton, their passion for both service delivery and collaboration was very apparent,” he said.
“Wincanton has an excellent reputation. The team convinced us that they offered best-in-class transport solutions, tailored to our business, and we felt we could make full use of their UK-wide network operations to ensure cost-effectiveness, operational efficiency and, most importantly of all, great service to our own customers.”
Chris Kingshott, Wincanton’s managing director for manufacturing, said: “With a history stretching back more than a quarter of a century Halo Foods is a well-known name in the food manufacturing market and we are extremely proud to be chosen to work alongside this respected company.
“With one of the UK’s largest transport networks, we are able to leverage our assets and infrastructure in order to create efficient and effective solutions without ever compromising on our commitment to deliver industry leading customer service.”
