Freight Transport Association acquires a logistics training business

Freight Transport Association (FTA), the only organisation to represent the whole logistics industry, has just acquired T Team Ltd trading as TrainingTeam. TrainingTeam offers market-leading specialist training courses focused on air cargo security and the movement of hazard causing goods by air, road, and sea, at different locations around the country and online.

David Wells, the organisation’s Chief Executive, says that “no one knows logistics quite like us.” “This acquisition strengthens our ability to ensure that our members, many of whom are already customers of TrainingTeam, are confident in the security and movement of dangerous goods across all transport modes, and cements FTA as the go-to provider for high quality training across the logistics sector,” adds him.

Charles Manetta, the founder of TrainingTeam, is happy to hand over the organisation to FTA: “FTA has a reputation for providing expert, credible advice, which is trusted by the industry, values which we have long championed at TrainingTeam. Our courses will complement FTA’s offering to ensure the sector continues to benefit from the best possible compliance training.”

This acquisition will not only benefit FTA, but also the country. Wells says that “an efficient supply chain is vital to Keep Britain Trading, and directly impacts over 2.5 million people employed in these vital sectors of our economy. Most importantly, FTA speaks to government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, greatly increasing the impact of its messages and achieving significant results for members. With Brexit driving changes in the way goods arrive and depart, logistics has never been more important to UK PLC.”

FTA’s members administer more than half of the UK’s HGV fleet and are accountable for more than 90% of freight moved by rail and 70% of freight moved by sea and air.
