Adult Apprenticeships At Ratcliff Palfinger Initiated By MP Grant Shapps
On Friday 14th March at 1pm, the Right Honorable Grant Shapps, MP for Welwyn Hatfield, visited Ratcliff Palfinger
to officially launch their Adult Apprenticeship Programme.
36 employees from across the business have signed up to this course which will support the change initiatives running through the business with a focus on quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Employees will also be able to enhance their Maths and English skills as part of their own personal development plans.
Managing Director Wayne Harmer, EMEA General Manager Felix Strohbichler and Technical Director David Agg
took Mr. Shapps for a complete factory tour and, of course, to meet the apprentices.
Mr. Shapps talked to various employees regarding the overall working conditions and how the training will impact
their professional career going forward.
Mr. Shapps was shown one of the many innovative products that is designed and manufactured at the Welwyn Garden City site and will be destined for the UK and global tail lift markets.
MD Wayne Harmer and Mr. Shapps discussed the current challenges facing the market and how the company will continue to invest in its facilities and quality processes to ensure the continuation of the British Manufacturing tradition. In this, our 50th anniversary year, we will be reflecting on our tradition of continuously providing innovative customer solutions that started back in 1964, when Ratcliff Tail Lifts was founded by Ted Ratcliff.
