Booming Business Brings New Vehicles For Cobley

Leicestershire-based Freight Company Cobley Transport has purchased five new vehicles following increased demand from both national and international customers.

The new additions increase Cobley’s dedicated Palletways fleet to 9 vehicles, and bring the company’s total to over 80. The new purchases include 3 Iveco Tractor units, one Iveco curtain van and one Iveco 10 ton lorry all Euro 5 spec.

The engines in the new tractors are fuel efficient and are therefore not only more economical, but better for the environment. These lower emissions are in line with Cobley’s continued attempts to be environmentally responsible.

Dave Coles, Business development and contract manager said: “It is fantastic being able to add new vehicles to our already large fleet. The company has to keep up with increased demands from new and old clients, and we plan to add 4 more new vehicles within the next 12 months.

We also have exciting times ahead with the planning permission to build the new 30,000 sq ft Warehouse and Distribution facility at our premises at Broughton Astley.

Cobley Transport is a privately owned family run business operating for over 30 years and aims to provide excellent service with a personal touch. The company currently employs over 120 people and operates using a range of vehicles from courier vans to 44 tonne articulated vehicles.

Cobley Transport is one of over 100 members in the Palletways UK network. The Palletways Group is made up of over 300 depots and 12 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 13 European countries, including the UK.

Palletways’ distribution network comprises independent transport companies who share each other’s resources to deliver small consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.
